African Drum Classes
Ron Lapointe teaches a Guinean-style African Drumming class designed for beginners and beyond. Instruction focuses on djembe and doun-douns with bell. Some drums may be provided for beginners.
Classes generally focus on one rhythm per class. The story of the rhythm is shared to bring more meaning to each class. Students are invited to learn each part of the rhythm, and are encouraged to 'solo' (after attending several classes) allowing for more creative expressions.
